Bournemouth’s third successive Europa League victory came through two penalties and an Amine Adli free-kick, with Milan’s chances of a recovery damaged by Mike Maignan’s dismissal before the half-hour.

Justin Kluivert converted the first penalty in the eighth minute after Koni De Winter handled Evanilson’s header. Milan then lost Maignan for pushing Tyler Adams in the face at a corner, an incident that also brought a second spot-kick.

Replacement goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani was beaten by Marcus Tavernier in the 32nd minute, leaving Milan two goals down and a player short. Adli added the third with a free-kick in the 84th.

The result took Bournemouth to nine points from three games. Milan remained on three.

Late offside decision frustrates Juventus

Juventus 2–2 Rennes

Jhon Lucumí’s late effort was ruled out for offside after a VAR review, leaving Juventus with a point from a match in which they had led early and then needed to recover.

Zeki Çelik opened the scoring in the fifth minute from Nick Woltemade’s pass, but Musa Al-Taamari equalised ten minutes later. Boulaye Dia’s penalty before the interval put Rennes ahead and forced Juventus to chase the game.

Woltemade brought the hosts level with a penalty midway through the second half after a defender handled Nico González’s header. Juventus pressed for another goal, only for the late offside decision to end their hopes of a third consecutive European win.

The draw kept Juventus unbeaten on seven points, with Rennes moving to five.

Palace let their advantage slip in Istanbul

Beşiktaş 2–2 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace overturned a half-time deficit with two quick goals, but could neither protect their lead nor find a winner after Beşiktaş were reduced to ten men.

Wilfred Ndidi gave the hosts the lead in first-half added time. Yeremy Pino equalised in the 51st minute from Anan Khalaili’s cross, with VAR confirming the move was onside, before Jean-Philippe Mateta intercepted Tiago Djaló’s backpass to score four minutes later.

Junior Olaitan restored parity in the 73rd minute, finding space near the edge of the area and finishing into the far corner. Beşiktaş then lost Ümit Akdağ to a straight red card in the 77th for his challenge on Jørgen Strand Larsen.

The result left Palace on four points, three behind their opponents.

Benfica pull away after the interval

Omonia 1–4 Benfica

Benfica scored three times in the second half to make it three wins from three, after Omonia had threatened to disrupt their progress.

Loïc Négo’s own goal in the 14th minute put the visitors ahead, but Andronikos Kakoullis equalised shortly before half-time. The balance changed again four minutes after the restart when Vangelis Pavlidis reacted to a rebound to restore Benfica’s lead.

Fredrik Aursnes punished a misplaced pass in the 76th minute, and Gianluca Prestianni finished Dodi Lukebakio’s delivery in the 85th to complete the scoring. The final margin reflected Benfica’s greater efficiency after the break, with nine points secured from their opening three fixtures.
